    Tank Babysitter?

I just bought the JBJ ATO automatic top off unit. It works great and is well worth the money. You should look into that. You could also buy a timed feeder but the fish will be fine without being fed for one week. Just feed them some meaty frozen foods before you leave.

    Crocea clam

Its dead now, so I just dropped it to the bottom of my tank and let my serpent star have a good meal. It was under halides at the LFS but I was told that the Crocea clams filter feed as youngsters and dont start feeding on light until they mature. My clam was barely 2 inches. It was fine on...

    Crocea clam

No, the Copperband is gone. My LFS says it could be bristle worms or possibly the peppermints. I put the clam in a plastic container up high on a plastic shelf where nothing can get do it except maybe the shrimps. Even they would have problems getting in the container because it is only about a...

You want the truth? (oil related topic)

I can remember gas being .35 cents per gallon and with every fill up you got a free drinking glass. They encouraged you to get a whole set. As a kid I can remember everyone having drinking glasses with the "Flying A" logo on them. Anyone remember Flying A gas?

Help me understand sump water level

I would eliminate the last baffle on the right. there is no need for two bubble traps. I would then raise the baffles of the fuge slightly. There is no need to raise the baffle to stop macro from escaping because no matter how high you make the baffle, the macro will still float and go over the...

Ok. Rudest thing a customer has ever said to you.

So I go to the bankk today to make a deposit. Its a new bank and I wasnt used to their forms. I give the forms to the teller who looks at it like it was written in Greek. She throws the form back at me which aggravates me and I tell her so. Now I ask her to show me where it is wrong but she cant...

What DID I get myself into?!?!?!

YOu can actually just throw a little fish food into the tank to get the cycle going. Be patient, that is the number one thing causing problems in this hobby. The more patient you are, the better your tank will turn out.

    Testing question

Try testing a batch of clean water before doing a water change. If the new water tests high for nitrates then you know the test is defective.
