Using copper based med's in a QT tank

Beth by far, is the best guru around on diseases. I set up a 29 gal qt and am dosing copper to rid fish of ick while letting my display tank sit fallow for 72 days. I plan on dosing copper to no more than .50 for 14 days then running carbon and doing water changes to rid qt of copper.

    powerheads

Are they the only water movement in the tank? Top of water movement is important to help exchange gasses. I had a 55 long like 4 tanks ago and I had an overflow box down to the sump and then a return pump. With that movement I added one power head attached to one side blowing along the front...

Never having luck with Quarantine tanks

I recently set up a 29 gal qt. It has a heater, hob filter. I added a small piece of pvc pipe for fish to hide in if they desire. I tore apart my 93 display tank to remove all fish because of signs of ick. My display tank is reset how I want it and will run fishless for a minimum of 60 days...

    Mushrooms splitting?

Hi everyone. I started my reef some time back. I bought two established mushroom colonies and have had them several weeks. They look amazing and seem to be doing well. I noticed today that one mushroom was stretched out leaving his perch and let loose totally. The other colony is on the...

Not the first SW FO tank I've had but in my new tank I keep losing fish :(

well water may not have chlor, or anything else regular tap water does BUT may contain trace amounts of pesticides and or fertilizers. The hit list (what not to use) has been covered so will not type it again. Acclimation is so very important as well as getting a good cycle on the tank. Live...

    Diatoms

Sorry for the age old questions. Im finishing cycling a 60 cube with 100+lbs of live rock, fresh live sand. Ammonia went to 4 and back to 0 over a couple weeks. Nitrites are 0 and Nitrates are 20. I use API test kit. I know all that accurate. Heres is the question. Diatoms are blooming so...
