really? the employees at mine always seem like they were just pulled off the street. i've never seen t5s or MH lights. I was leaning towards an eclipse package anyways. I think they run about $50 and I can replace the lights for around $10-20.

I've been thinking about trying this for a while. Taking a walmart tank "package" changing the light and maybe adding a few things to make a nice small 5gallon-ish tank. Anyone done this before? The guys at the LFS think its definately do-able but no one has done it. If you have done this...

i had a royal gramma. it beat the crap out of my clownfish so I no longer have it. Had a longnose hawkfish to, but lost it the last time the tank broke down. I'm considering getting another one though. I think I've decided on either another longnose or a midas or tailspot blenny.

thanks! The lense is a Sigma not a Canon but its the same kind that comes with the camera. I've had it for a while so I'm not sure if it was cheaper that the Canon and thats why we have it.

Do clove polyps have any kind of toxin that would prevent me from fragging them inside of my tank? I could take them out but it would involve taking 2 large pieces of LR out.

super glue anywhere you think air may be getting into your tank. I had this problem several times, but it kept reoccurring and this has put a complete stop to it.

I recently posted a question about taking pics with the Canon Rebel XT. I couldn't get clear photos out of my nano cube, but I now think its b/c the bowfront. I got some amazing pictures of the LFS's main display tank and thought I would share!

ok i just tested my water. nitrates: 10 nitrites: 0 ammonia:0 Ph:8.4 Kh:10 (yay! two weeks ago it was at 4, this has been at 10 for 2 days!) calcium: 400 (need to get that a little higher for my poor corals hurt by the Kh) Phosphate: 0 Thats all the tests I have. I haven't seen silicate tests...

tell me about silicates. last i checked there were no phospahtes, the hair algae came in with a piece of coral, but the crabs cleaned it up. i'll check again tonite though.

I have had astreas. So you think the turbos may fair better? I've given up on snails and have just been cleaning my glass by hand since thats where most of the algae is. I have a little bit of hair algase that was on a coral I bought, but other than that not muc hlagae other than on the glass.

should be 1.025, but I need to go buy a new test thing for that. but i do know that when i was having my problem it should have been right there.
