Sorry to hear that Snake, this is one of the reasons I want to make the lights in a protective cover. I didn't think that could happen to those lights. Makes me wonder if these algae scrubbers are worth the worry with things like this happening.

    1 Month in QT

Alright so I have 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 emerald crab, 1 pom pom crab that have been in QT for 1 months so far. They are doing good, the emerald crab has grown a lot, I had two but one passed during a molt. I understand that a system needs to be fish free for 5 weeks in order for ich to be gone...

    New stand for a 120

Well I am bored tonight, had a great day outside finishing the baby chicken coop and I even had time to put together a stand for a 120 gallon tank I acquired recently. Here is a pic.

New Algae Scrubber Design - Prototype

I would be interested in seeing the cost for an LED set up, I think the 3D screen is rough enough, I might back it up with a regular sreen. If the 3D doesn't work a regular roughed up screen could be added. I could add some short holders on the acrylic to hold it. I would like to see the slot...

New Algae Scrubber Design - Prototype

Hi everyone - I have been playing around with a new design for an algae scrubber. One of things that bothered me about the scrubbers with lights on both sides of the screen is the real estate it takes up. So I came up with this idea. The screen is a new material - it is kind of 3D looking -...
