    Coraline overgrowth

there isn't a whole lot that messes with coralline. You could try some of the larger hermits, Look for the ones with the big left claw like hawaiin zebra. They scrape the crap out of rock with that claw and end up destroying coralline algae in the process. I've heard decorator crabs will pull...

    Snail Eggs?

Yeah... Me too. They gave me a bunch of bull reasons. Something about a 90 probationary period but never mind i've been working there for more than 15 weeks. Apparently theres a list of things i did which DOES NOT include theft of any kind but i had no warning what so ever. Go figure. If you...

Why did my Green Chromis die???

Possibly or the Chromis got stressed enough and existing strains took over.... I don't know much about disease life cycles though. I would get rid of the velvet damsel. They get big and ugly eventually if they are the ones im thinking of.

looking for 300g in La or san diego.

    Snail Eggs?

Well. Bad news. If you do go I just got fired :(. Not sure why yet. So I won't be able to be there to show you. Look in the coral tanks though. You'll probably see a few of the snails crawling around. Fish Pros is alot smaller stock wise than fish world. Alot more pond stuff as well. As...

    cleanup critters

I would start with 10 of each. There are crabs, shrimp, and starfish you can get as well. All of which clean up. As to what to get. VARIETY.....The more variety of life the better chance of controling anything you may have problems with.

    Snail Eggs?

I saw that post but this guy is cream colored with what looks like brownish greenish markings, could be algae build up. Yours looked alot darker than that. Either way im happy about it. I have a bunch of these guys in my 12 gallon and if they stay small its perfect.

Yes, Yes, and Yes. Depends on the hermit. Some need turbo snail shells eventually, some need large cerith snail shells eventually. Some need full size conch shells eventually....

    Snail Eggs?

Well thats what the sac is. I guess i have this perception that all the strombus are huge and would need to be bigger before reproducing. This guy is barely past half an inch.

Why did my Green Chromis die???

I've seen that behavior before. I'm not sure what causes it though. Internal parasite maybe that stresses them out. Maybe someone else knows. I do know green chromis will bed down in whatever hole they can wiggle into. I can attest to that. Mine do it.

    Snail Eggs?

I wish i did. The base of his foot is attatched to the egg and there is another egg about 2 inches below the one he seems to be laying right now. Do you have any idea how small the strombus can lay eggs? I really think its a dove shell snail out of sprungs book based on his description. I...

    Snail Eggs?

Just and update it is the dove shell snails that are laying the eggs. Its the Euplica type..... I think..... It definitely does not look like a strombus type. One is laying an egg as I write this.

    4x65watt pc corals?

I wouldn't try the daisy. What kind of plate? The others sound fine though. If you have doubts start the coral at the top of your tank and slowly work them down where you like them. Just remember the water flow and proper conditions in the water. Corals are essentially animals and it helps...

Why is my Algae/Sailfin Blenny being MEAN?

Hawksfishes, blennies, and gobies are shaped fairly similarly. They also act like perching fish. Thusly they don't really like eachother too much. Sometimes they get along but since they act similarly they can be at each others throats. So long as fins aren't being torn and cuts on the body...

    Snail Eggs?

When they hatch, and i'm basing this on other reproduction cycles, they go to the top and float and that in turn sweeps them away. The bristle worms would probably eat them if they could catch them. My only guess though is they get swept away somehow. My other guess is of the millions of eggs...

    zooa id please

It might be a form of tube anemone. If the tube has coralline growing on it then that makes sense. Looking in Sprungs invert book it looks like they are Isaurus or Snake Polyps though. If you get a chance to look at the book they are on page 47. Says they only come out at night and need...

    Snail Eggs?

If you never see the babies then its probably something eating them or maybe they get sucked into filtration.... I don't know your tank though. I have 2 green chromis in the tank. Its also a 12 gallon tank so i have a limited number of predators. The only thing that may eat them would be the...

    Harlequin Sweetlips, pics and desicions

My guess is they get too darn big like the emperor snaper and panther grouper to name a few. Why are they restricted? Is it because they are poor acclimators?

    Button Polyp changing?

Corals do have the ability to change their color depending on their lighting and location. It all depends on the symbiotic algae they grow. A classic example is acropora which is brilliant under MH's and lack luster under lesser lighting..... Its possible your's like their lighting and are...
