ya what ever you dont get the rio i had rio for a return pump and it burned up and almost destroyed my whole tank. i switched to the mag drive and i am very happy with it i also heard that the quiet ones are also good.

after my rio burned up and almost destroyed my tank i will never buy a another rio pump. i got the mag 7 and so far i love it, the only thing is that it is little loud does any one know how to quiet them down? its in my sump.

my chaeto in my fuge just floats to the top so some of it is out of the water. do i leave it like this or anchor it down?

i just put some retro fits lights in my canopy. does any one know or any ideas on a slash guard? i was thinking of putting light diffuser over the tank then laying some thin acrylic over it.

i have three lights all are 60" and have there own reflector. two actinic's and one day. the actinic's are each 80 watt and each have there own ballast. the day light is 48 watt. the day light needs a bulb and one of the ballast stopped working. the picture only shows two of the lights the other...

im interested in your maxi jets. what size, how many, how much to ship to 92124

i used silicone from an auto parts store its pro seal brand clear rtv silicone adhesive and sealant comes in a little tube and nozzle so it made sealing the baffles easier. i havent had any problems.

just measure the inside of your tank and subtract a 1/16

from what i have read it is to minimize the air bubbles but i am not other than that the only reason for using them is to separate different capartments and directing water flow

ya 1/16 minus the inside measurement its a perfect clearence. i have had mine up less than a month and all kinds of critters moving around in there, algae growing everywhere and very little algae in the display tank. i also used rock rubble instead of bio balls.

heres a pic i put the baffles in while the tank was in the stand. there is also another part where the return pump is, that you cant see. i only used two baffles i and i get no air bubbles in my display tank. i also put a top on the tank and i get very little evaporation.

ya on the out side mine is 12 but subtract the side glass width which is 1/4 which gave me 11 1/2

my 30g was 11 1/2 wide so i just subtracted a 1/16 and that was perfect clearance i on ly used two baffles ill try and post a pic tomorrow.

what would be better over a 10 gallon refuge. a 9" 18w 6700k pc or a 20" 28w 10000k/actintic?

i also have a sea clone the pump went out, so i did some research on pumps. i put a rio 800 with the rejuvenation kit on it, and it works way better than the maxi jet. it forms bubbles like a needle wheel. alot cheaper than getting a new skimmer cost me about 30 bucks.
