This. I've seen them on a few of my hermit shells.

No on my hermit shell there are 4 feather dusters but there are also shell looking things with slits that a single waving feather comes out of and waves around before retracting.

Yeah it swipes for a while then goes back in. I've seen this on 3 of my hermits.

I just saw something on the chell of my med. hermit crab and serching on the internet is saw a vid. of a barnicle and it looks exactly like what is on the hermit. Just alot smaller. Thoughts?

Crap I didn't know they got that big. I do plan on a tank that big but not for a while. That bums me out cause its prety.

Why would the sweetlips become a problem. My lfs (which doesn't mean crap so I've found out) said there would be no problem.

What do you think of the idea of buying some neck clams from the seafood store to help with trates since were on the subject of sand.
