it will be hard to fix the ic660 in that unit. if you get some good quality bulbs like ati, uvl, and geisman, you should be fine. for ATI their Blue Plus bulbs are good, the aquasun you might need more blue to balance the color of this bulb

maybe the 150, seems like a lot but i thought a 70w on the 14g was okay. with the 70w you can keep LPS and zoanthids, the 150 maybe be too much lighting and bleach LPS if im not mistaken, you can adjust the height of the viper, so maybe the 150 would be fine?

if you really want good lighting, metal halide and t5ho with individual reflectors is where youd want to start. for 350 bucks including shipping, you can get a Nova Extreme Pro 6x54w T5HO. You can keep clams, SPS, basically anything. The bulbs arent the best, but you can get some really good...

oh and there's also a tail spot blenny that would be nice if you want really nice fish and have a sandbed, look at getting a wrasse. red velvet wrasse would be great, even a christmas wrasse or radiant wrasse-- they are skittish and will need a cover for the tank so they dont jump out

i would say midas blenny, but may or may not be safe with clams. some blennies tend to nip on the mantles of clams, and even some sps

avoid the cleaner wrasse, they have poor success rates in this hoby and should be left in the ocean. sixlines are really mean and will give new additions problems

oh and for the sump id use either a 55 gallon or a 75 gallon, something big enough to fit your skimmer and any other equipment you want

for that big of a tank id look into 400 watt metal halides. My friend has a 180g with 3 400 watt metal halides. Filtration youll want to look into protein skimmers. If money is no problem look at ATB, Deltec, Bubble King; if money is a problem look at the MSX protein skimmers-- the cone skimmers...

as long as you want. just make sure it's food grade. some people use regular trash cans and the ro/di will pull certain things from the material, in brute trash cans theyll be fine. if you want to store saltwater, make sure the salt you use doesnt have any vitamins added like in Reef Crystals...

what kind of fish? I would say to take the live rock you have, add it to the 24, add some new sand and let it settle for a week or 2. you'll go through a small algae cycle, but check all your parameters.. ammonia, nitrite just in case. Lighting like that should be find for a 24-- clams like...

look online for pictures of marine ich and compare it to what you have. do you have a qurantine tank thats been through a cycle already?

yeah theyre expensive need at least 50 gallons, grow up to as long as 4" and most likely willl not need a sandbed. those in the genus Cirrhilabrus or the ones known as "flasher" or "fairy" wrasses do not need a sandbed
