The tank is a glass tank, no scratches (a bit dusty) and it is about 2 years old, no leaks. German valley, is near Freeport, IL just west of Rockford. about a 2 to 3 hr trip from Chicaro, depending on where in the Chicago land you live.

UPDATE: Today I have to go in for surgery on my right ankle. They are going to put 2 pins in, then a month of recovery, followed by a month of physical therapy. So as you can see this really is not my year. BTW, I taught my boss to take care of my fish for me.

The snail is just eating the algae on the rock. If you read the fish mags for any length of time you will see this is a necessary this. When the algae is removed, it gives room for other thinks to live there, in most aquariums coralline algae. Do not worry about it; in fact be happy about it.
