just got a used 12 gallon nano cube and it is the dimensions of a 12 gallon, but I just filled it up completely with no rocks, sand anything... with 8 gallons. I now wonder id my 8 gallon biocube is really 8 gallons, being that it is smaller in size.

i see all my fish except for the purple psudeochromis and the 6 line wrasse... surley the wrasse is a hardy fish.. I will say, however, those 2 fish both tend to hind away at night.

So the power went out and the water temp in both my tanks (aggressive 55 and a reef 30) got down to about 61-61... The corals dont look good at all and the fish i think are all alive, but all very very still and tucked away in the rockwork (for heat maybe). Will the corals survive? Should I top...

I have a 430 ballast that is currently running 2 110W VHOs... I have a FOWLR tank that i'm not happy with the color... can i use my ballast for the less powerful T8s (theeveryday petsmart ones) that will only be 40W and maybe run 3 or 4 until I get the lighting look i'm after...?

Is it OK to mix T12s and T8s running off the same ballast, side by side? I have 2 110W 4'ers and my 430 ballast should handle 3 but theres a problem with it. I think I might be able to get at least 275W out of it.. with using a lower watt 3rd bulb (t8)
