Aaaahhh, my friend- be prepared to SPEND!!! To get the level of equipment deemed "necessary" by most of us here and with the proper flow rate, water turnover, LR and LS it cost me about $4,000 to set up my 125 for the same purpose. It was about an additional $200-$250 a month to keep it going...

But they all get to be LARGE in the long run. If its a standard 180 a pair of Cortez rays or a single Cali ray or Yellow ray are the ones that jump out at me, only due to the fact that they are readilly available. This is all subject to the fact that you decide to go this route with the tank...

The best way I found was a pair of rays!:D

OK- First, no puffers parrots with lions. Secondly, no angels or large tangs with sharks. Ditch the lion and bamboo and your in good shape. Or, ditch everything else.

Thats more than enough room for a marbled. You could probably do a pair if no rays.

Depending on footprint. For even the smallest ray you need at least 6'x3'.

Lets clarify. The only reason I ever bought the two rays, or sharks for that matter, was because I ALREADY HAD A 980 GALLON WITH ALL OF THE EQUIPMENT READY TO RUN!!! People have seen my old tank and thought they could do it, too. This I assure you will lead to health and water quality...
