whats the limit of lr in a 45 tall?

if i understand right... more lr has more fish load or is it the other way around?

my lfs told me of putting slivers of lr in a marineland c220 canister where the bioballs go. can anyone tell me whats the benifit of this or a waste of time...

i just got some new rock from an individual and it must of had snails in it how do i get rid of them ? i forgot to say that the tank is only been running for 2 months and i have 30# of lr and 3 damsels in for now......
