    Acrylic or Glass tank?

I am going from a 90 gallon to about a 180 gallon tank and need to know if I should buy and acrylic tank this time as it is lighter and will never leak. I do have fears that it will scratch and look bad in time. Any comments from people who have had plastic tanks? How do you like/dislike them...

    Bad Bad news

Are you sure he did not use untreated tap water for top offs? The amount use in just thawing food would not be enough to kill your fish imo.

The transfer method to treat ich and to do as a quarenteen.

This new way is actually proven to work in the literature. It is difficult to find info on this but it is very sound science that if you move the fish to a clean tank every other day that the ich is removed and there is no way to re-infect after the current ich live out their 5 to 7 days on the...

The transfer method to treat ich and to do as a quarenteen.

Well, I was going to hypo the whole 90 gallon until I got scared when the Majestic stopped eating and put the Greenex in the tank and killed 2/3 of them in a couple of hours. Some of the fish that died were not even acting sick before so they most likely would have survived. I desided to not do...

The transfer method to treat ich and to do as a quarenteen.

I do not want to do hypo becaues Robert Fenner says it does not get rid of all of the ich, esp. some of the new strains that have learned to live in hypo. Transfering the fish is not that stressful as I am using water from the same batch.

The transfer method to treat ich and to do as a quarenteen.

Update.....Did some reading online and it said that all one has to do inbetween water changes is let the other rubbermaid and PVC etc. dry out (I am still going to wipe everything down just in case to remove the spores) and then transfer the fish every two days between the two rubbermaids with...

    clown fight?

Why did you let a friend give you a fish you did not want? I would have told them to give it to the LFS...you could do that, but do not put them together with the other clowns!

Just can't seem to get the Nitrates down

Get a new test kit from another manufacturer or even the same manufacturer from a different batch lot number. Maybe something is wrong with the solution/test kit....could it be old? Or maybe it was exposed to heat or cold extremes that affected it's accuracy. It should have dropped a lot with 4...

The transfer method to treat ich and to do as a quarenteen.

Well, Hi guys....I had ich in my 90 gallon and took all the live rock out last week to treat the tank with hypo and it was a real mess as I tried to get all the live sand out (have lots of worms that would not survive hypo). I was going to start hypo but got scared as I have been reading on line...

Nemo has rash on top of his lip...

Try some Melafix. It worked well when I got a fish in the mail last week with a swollen bump that was a little red on his face. It looked like he had a growth or something on his face. I was hoping it was just an injury from someone netting him or something. I used the Melafix for about 4 days...

Hi, If one does hypo how does one get the ph up in the fresh R/O water as it does not have all the buffering abiltiy that the saltwater has. This is a worry to me. Lesley

Hi, I have been using the Kick stuff for almost a month and all fish are well except for two fish keep showing a few spots. I am changing out to a new 180 gallon tank in two weeks. do you have to drip acclimate

Hi, I take a pitcher or other plastic container, pour the fish in, and slowly add tank water maybe a half a cup every 15 minutes or so. When the water in the container gets too full I will pour a little out in the sink (carefully), and continue to pour small amounts of aquarium water in every...
