    breeders-bangguy,azfishgal, and others

I'll chime in! (I've gone back to school so I've been hitting the books pretty hard.) I for one have not read the book, so I can not claim if it's good or not. The tank that my little guys are in is a 10 gallon nano (square) tank. I have bioballs and ceramic rings and they have been in there...

    Mag is way low!

Dennis, thanks so much for the info. I really appreciate it. I might start doing the Kalk drip to keep things in balance. For now I just ordered 1 gallon of Kent Tech-M (don't worry, I won't dose all at once) just to get the Mag back up because it's way to low IMO. Bang Guy, thanks to for...

    Mag is way low!

Would it be possible to just mix a gallon of saltwater from each bucket, like shake it up really good and then test it or do I need it to mix overnight. Will the test results be any different as long as I make sure the salinity is 1.025 before I start the tests?

    Mag is way low!

I do a 20 gallon water change every other week, so maybe it's my salt that has brought it down. I'm using Reef Crystals, but I've been using it for 8 months or longer and I'm just now seeing a problem with the Mag, and of course now the calcium has dropped, yesterday it tested at 300. (even...

    Mag is way low!

OK, I've been having issues with my calcium and alk, so I ordered a Mag test kit knowing it's probably my Mag that is causing the real issue. I just received my Mag test kit and my mag is definately low, at 1000. And this is after I've been adding 30ml of Salifert Liquid Mag every day for the...

    Critics Please

I think it's safe to say we can title this tank the "leather" tank. A Flame Angel would definatley add a splash of color. I've had mine for about 4 months and the only thing I've seen him pick at is the Xenia, which is ok by me. You can also try some colorful zoos, blue tubs are VERY nice or...

pics of my new 250 hexagon

I think a hexagon (or circle) is the way to go when you have a FOWLR aggressive tank. Those fish can just swim non stop with that set up. Very cool!!! Can't wait to see the Naso and Emperor in the DT (which are btw my two favorite fish).

    my nemeses

So I take it you've had problems keeping one alive? I've had mine for almost a year now. I feed mine mysis shrimp, pellets (soaked in VitaChem), reef plankton, and Formula One (frozen). He has about 3 different homes in the rock but has one in particular that he favors, so make sure this...

AZfishgal, or anyone else with Bangaii breeding experience

CONGRATULATIONS!!! They are just so darn cute when they are born. Hope you are able to catch them all, but you will need to feed those babies ASAP. Make sure you start some BBS if you have not already. Oh, and guess what?! My daddy is holding eggs again. It's only day 1 (as I noticed him...

    SPS in my tank

I would start with the Monti, see how it does. If it grows fast and has good color then move onto the next level, maybe a birds nest. Most clams that I'm familiar with need LOTS of light, so not sure your T5s would work. But maybe someone on here as been succesful with it.

    SPS in my tank

I would say no on the acro, one of the more difficult SPS corals to care for. The monti might be ok, as it's much easier and good for beginners. Just make sure your water quality is up to par.

    # Year Anniversary 92G Corner

Very nice! That clam is HUGE, and the Monti garden is beautiful. I'm sure your camera doesn't even come close to the actual colors. Congrats on 3 years!!!

    Yellow Tang LTA problems

I have a Sailfin, Hippo, and Yellow Tang in my tank with a BTA and have never seen that sort of behavior going on. But this story was good to read in case I ever see my tangs acting up like that. Thanks for sharing, and I hope your Yellow Tang pulls through.

    Nikon D70s

A Macro lense is your best bet, but even with my Nikon D40x I can get some decent shots, but I use the manual focus, tripod, AND the timer. It's amazing how much clearer they come out when I do those three simple things.
