What is the best way yo add CALCIUM AND ALK? I am going to get these test kits so I think that I will start adding them to my tank. I think that this will help with my hair algae. I was wondering what I needed to get to add these? I want to get Kalk paste because I have some glass anemones...

Why don't you think that the hermit pulled it off? The hermit was messing with it for three days. Every day I would move the Hermit the next time i looked in the tank it would be right back picking at it.

One of my blue leg hermit crabs pulled my Ricordea off the rock that it came on. I found it sitting upside down at the bottom of my tank. I picked it up and set it on a rock. I does not look good. Do you think that it will live?

My blue legs killed all but 3 of my red legs. I with I would have just got one or the other. If all of your reds get killed I would stick with the blues only. There is no need to waste money (a couple bucks a pop) on feeding you blue little red legged snacks.

Add shells if you don't have extras, Most of my reds are gone because blue killed them even with extra shells.

Thanks I think that I will get the test kits as soon as I can. With high ALK and Ca the purple and green algae in my tank should take over and push out the green hair algae right?

No they are big enough to have shells and walk around.

The algae is going away a little and the pH has went down some. I was thinking that if I got the pH to were it needs to be that the algae would go way quicker. the pH was at 8 all the time and now it stays in the high 7's and will get to 8 every now and then.

My LFS does not test for Ca or ALK. They don't have KIts.

I should not add them then. Until I get a test kit. I my be a month or so because my town does not have any.

Night= 7.8 Morning=8.0 I do not have a ALK or Ca test kit yet. I need to get one and will when my wife lets her death grip off of her purse. (will be a while) Should I add Ca?

What is the best way to raise your pH? Mine is a little low and I would like to raise it .2 or so.

Will hermit crabs reproduce in your tank? I have seen a lot of like tiny hermits around, and I don't think I had that many to start with.
