Yes if your live rock is cured you should be good. However if its out of water for any given time you are more than likely going to have some die off on the rock wich will cause a small cycle. I didnt do the complete mod . Just the light and ballast. Saves all the work for the power supply for the fans and Leds. One extra bulb doest put off enough heat to justify changing out the fans. Also just getting the basic mod was only $40.

I have had them both. The biocube one is better but still not up to par with what I think we could have in a good skimmer. I have one and use it on my bc14. I just wish i had a better option. The price is good though.
