yeap heaters r only meant to heat up tanks when temps drop 1-2 degrees it will take a while until a heater can bring up your temp 30 degrees, their only meant for minor drops in temp.

yeap would be fine for a few days, keep in mind the sun isnt always out and some times it rains for days with no sunshine. so youll b ok.

i would add more liverock, its always great to have a good ammount of LR for it can handle a great bio-load just in case and more wont hurt. better safe than sorry

adding sand to an existing established tank is risky at times people have wiped out their tanks doin so, u start a mini cycle which u have done already. your ammonia has spiked and u now have to continue doing water changes until u get rid of it helps the cycle go through faster when u do water...

you might have a phosphate problem test for phosphates, im going through the same thing but i messed up by adding tap water for my topoff water.. smh

what are your water perams, how many gallons is your tank and how many watts of light r u running? and for your lights what kind are they? alot of coral will look really sweet in peoples tanks for a few days until they cant take it anymore and start to give out a week or 2 later so i dont count...

in my 30gallon i had 72 watts, thats only 2watts per gallon u can home zo's leathers candycane and certain coral... but like the previous post said atleast 4watts is good no less i bumped mine up and got an upgrade now im at 140 watts alittle over 4watts now

it likes that spot, its normal.. mine loves the corner of my tank i guess the flow and everything is perfect there for it.. mine will look like a monster one day all out and beefy then couple hours later all sad then again all beefy, i moved it once and he slowly slowly got back over to his spot...
