    inverts for a 10g

No problem - one other thing I thought of is when you're getting snails keep in mind what type of substrate you have. Some snails speciifcally burrow in sand, which is good for your sandbed, but not good for the snail if you have crushed coral. Other snails (I think turbo but not certain) aren't...

    inverts for a 10g

I've got an Emerald Crab, Coral Banded Shrimp and snails in a 10g with a pair of Ocellaris Clowns. The crab and Shrimp are very fun! A little secretive, but they always come out at feeding time to gets the Clowns' leftovers

    20g nano i need advice

You asked about clownfish - yes, they are relatively hardy and you could certainly put one or two in a 20 gallon tank. As for inverts, they are really fun. Look at the livestock offered on this website - I really like crabs and shrimp. I have an Emerald crab and a Coral Banded shrimp, both of...

    20g nano i need advice

The best way to prevent croaking i to research everything, just like you're doing, and go very slowly. These message boards contain a wealth of information to help you. If you haven't already, do a search on saltwater 101 and read all those threads - they will describe explicitly for you what...

Pic's of my new 1 gallon Nano

Trigger- I like the idea of a tiny little tank with just some mushrooms and/or inverts, which it sounds like is your long term plan for this tank? Just wondering, is water quality maintained only through water changes? I didn't see a filter and can't inagine there's room for a powerhead.....

    Feeding time

When I first got my clown, he was kindof shy about chasing the food, so I unplugged the powerhead during feedings. Just helped slow down the "prey" for the little guy. After a few days, I didn't need to anymore :D

    clown and mushrooms

Don't feel bad - I have a coral banded Shrimp that hangs upside down on a rocky "ledge" all day, with just his very long "whiskers" sticking out. I think MY clown is trying to host against the whiskers! I think I'll go find him a nice mushroom!!!

    Levels went back up??

    Levels went back up??

If I were you, I wouldn't add anything else until your levels are back down to zero ammonia and nitrites and near zero nitrates. Then add some snails and crabs. Wait for maybe a week - give your system time to adjust, test your levels again, then add a very small fish. Always wait at least 1 -...

    Levels went back up??

Well, I'm new at this too but my understanding is that you put in a whole bunch of live rock (cured or uncured) to START the cycle. Then after fish are in, you only add cured rock and only in small increments. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you started a whole new cycle.

    Levels went back up??

By any chance did you just recently add that live rock? I thought in a previous post, when your yellow tang was dying, you said you didn't have any live rock. Because it seems to me that kind of addition would cause the levels to rise. Or did I not understand you correctly?

    before I buy Fish????

If you got two clowns, they'd be Nemo and Marlin...then one would become female....so maybe Marlena?- Was Jacques the cleaner shrimp - I think you could have a few of those. I don't know how old your kids are, but maybe they'd understand that all those other fish were not happy in the tank...
