My Coral Beauty Angelfish has dropsy. Does anybody know of any treatments for it? Also, how do the fish get this disease?

Does anybody know of any dropsy cures other than pimafix or melafix? I've been treating my tank with it for almost a week and the fish that has it, doesn't seem to be getting better. It is only one fish that has it. Is this normal? Also, what are some things that may cause it? I need some...

How is it introduced into a saltwater aquarium?

The closest thing to formalin I could find was a treatment called Formalite...is it the same thing? Unfortunately I couldn't compare ingredients or anything. I ended up buying a natural treatment called Pimafix that is supposed to work on all parasites without hurting my shrimp and other inverts.

If they did die of shock or stress...that was REALLY delayed. Although I did entertain that idea myself. I actually think I've discovered the problem...brooklynella. Anybody know of some effective treatments and ways to avoid this disease?

Is saltwater ich any different than freshwater ich? In my freshwater tank, my fish only get ich if the thermostat messes up for some reason and the temperature drops. In my saltwater tank, I notice ich spots on my fish quite often and the temperature in the tank has stayed the same.

I tested the the water everyday for ammonia for about a week after I put the fish in the tank. I also did the complete test today when the second fish died. It died in about 2 hours. I noticed the discoloration on the mandarin dragonet (the second fish to die), tested the water, it was fine...

I acclimated them all at once, and I've actually been thinking about this all day. If my bio load was too much at once and the natural eco system couldn't keep up with all the critters at the same time, wouldn't it have affected my water? Anyway, fish are fine now, of course they were 2 days...

I have a cleaner shrimp and 2 peppermint shrimp that are MIA. Haven't seen them for days though so I don't know what to think (the peppermint shrimp). I don't want to rearrange the tank trying to find them...stress everything out that much more. Geez saltwater tanks are kinda life consuming...

I've had my tank set up for over a year, but like all people, I made some mistakes, lost a few fish. After my last original fish died a couple months ago I was about to give up, but decided to start over. The tank had that couple months to cycle without fish, I thought it was nicely...
