I found 2 SCWDs 3/4" and 1". My return pump has a 1 inch fitting. What would happen if I used the 3/4 SCWD vice 1" (much different price and the larger SCWD states minimum 500GPH which is boarderline for my pump. Would there be a problem with the restriction on my pump shrotening it's life?

Still trying to understand why rinsing it helps. Is it the fact that as it is refreezing that bacteria may form and then gets back in your tank? Wouldn't the freezing kill it? I can understand the thawing to help distribute the food but not why it should be rinsed before placing in tank.

I think like most of the posts said was that you have to look at that lower tube elbo (not the top one that exits the tank), you adjust the air valve until you see a large bubble form in the bottom elbo, then you have it set. good luck
