What is the proper level of water hardness. My KH measured 179ppm. Is this good?

How much water flow is too much for a colt coral? My colt is about 2 feet from a power head, but not in a direct line. I had FO for 30 years and just changed to a reef system. I know nothing about corals. The colt is my first coral that I bought. Thanks for all of the help.

To every one here, Thanks for the help. I have some shrimp like critters in my tank and they look very much like fleas. The larger ones are about a quarter inch long. Any ideas?
