Took down the 75 gallon tank I had and now I've got about 70 pounds of live sand I need to get rid of. Obviously I could just throw it in the dumpster, but there's obviously other ways of disposal. Any suggestions that anybody has would be great. Thanks!

Do snails not eat diatoms? I've always had my diatom blooms disappear after adding snails (esp. turbo's) always assumed it was the snails?! I know that when they're on the front or side viewing glass you can see were the snails have eaten a trail through them. Interesting I've noticed the same...

So I've got me a problem with free floating algae. The nice green kind that makes it so I cant see the back of my tank... The organisms that I have in there seem to be living fine and dandy, but I'm just trying to find a way to get rid of this crap. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get rid...

I may be interested in the rock and power head if you decide to break things up depending on how you would sell them for.

My poor self only has a swing arm hydrometer (Deep 6 Brand) for now until I can talk my wife into being able to afford a better one. The specific gravity normally stays around 1.024 and my tank temp stays around 80^F +/- 1 degree but normally when I look at it it's at 80.
