    Best Public Aquariums

I've been to anumber of the public aquaria (Monterey, Scripps, Camden, New England, Baltimore, Charleston, Ripley's Myrtle Beach. Seaworld) in the US and Bermuda over the years with my kids, and I'd be happy to give you a thumbnail of those if you'd care to read a bit more.

    55 gallon stocking

I've had blueheads and a lunare wrasse. Regardless of their agressiveness, be prepared for fish that are constantly in motion, and I mean constantly and fast. The effect is hardly hardly peaceful, if that is important to you. One bluehead I had constantly swam into the sidewalls of a 180...

    zebra moray

When I bought my son a zebra, we placed in a tank with lots of rock initially, and he ate well from a stick right from the start. Three months later we moved him to another tank, which had much less rock cover for him to hide in, and he wouldn't eat at all. We moved him back to the tank with...

    Flakes VS Pellets

My yellow and Hippo tangs love Formula Two pellets, the medium size, which will drop to the bottom. In another aquarium, I have a red striped squirrelfish, a rabbitfish, a flame hawkfish, and a lunare wrasse, and these fish really prefer things that float for awhile, like flake, krill...

I've read some older posts about the green leaf wrasse. Does anyone have any info on this fish?

    Sudden death

Thanks for the responses-the anemone looks great-I've got to pick up some nitrite testing materials and check it. The tank is at home, and so far haven't had anyone messing with it. My kids have their own tanks (20 & 29) they're working on, so they don't bother much with the bigger tank.

hardwick wrasse or a foxface lo?

My greenbird wrasse died. I either want a hardwick wrasse or a foxface lo, but I also have a 3 inch indigo hamlet. which fish would be best? Please give me reasons on whatever fish you choose. I'm only a begginer; if you don't like either, give other choices on active, hardy fish.(P.S. I like...

    Resting Wrasse

I have a twenty gallon saltwater tank containing a 2.5in. indigo hamlet and a 3 inch greenbird wrasse I added a week ago. The hamlet is doing great but I'm still not sure about the wrasse. He eats well but tends to sit at different places on the bottom most of the day. If disturbed, he swims...

    Sudden death

The tank had been cycled over 6 months, specific gravity 1.025-1.027, temp 75degrees, never added LS, and no LR in more than a month. The live rock I have was cured in the LFS. What struck me as odd was the speed with which the fish went from behaving well and in a healthy fashion to dying. I...

    Sudden death

A week ago I added my first anemone, a bubble tip anemone, to my 50 gallon bowfront (75lbs. of rock, pH 8.2, ammonia 0, nitrate 5.0 ppm: 192 watt compact fluorescent lighting; Maroon clownfish, small flame hawkfish, very small panther gouper, coral beauty, tiny clown goby; banded coral shrimp...
