I have the same set up and there is about 8" of water in my sump it just depends on where you put the baffles

I finally got my sump working now i need help with set up I have 55 gal DT with 70 lb of live rock and a sand bed My sump is a 20 gal long. I made the siphon out of 1.5 black pvc with plans i found on this site. My return pump is a quiet one i think rated at 580 gph and so far i can not break...
