Well, my yellow tang is not doing to well and my other fish remain hidden but ok. My question is, how could the nitrate peek at 180ppm? The only conclusion I can think of, power… before the power went out on December 6, 2003 at 9:10 AM, all the fish were doing fine. When the power went out for...

Cleanup crew with a seahorse OK???

Careful with seastars, they will run over the horse and kill it. Just like a friend of mine that has a PS. He had five seahorses and one medium red serpent star. The serpent star was moving around and got on top of the seahorse killing it.

    feather duster

They do it when stressed. They will hide after that, until new feathers grow. But, you can still feel it moving inside the tube. You should leave it alone for a while for a few days. Then shake it a little to see if it has gotten rotten. If it died and it’s been in your tank for a few days, you...

    another clown?

Stumpdog, If I have to, yes. And I won’t be moving 30lbs, I’ll be moving 150lbs. Stirring your sand is not good, moving your rock is an ok thing. Remember that you will only do it once… how long are you planning on adding fish?

    another clown?

You posted: “Currently I have a percula clown and royal gramma. I have only had them for 1 month. I would like to get another percula clown to keep the first company. Since both the clown and gramma are territorial I wondered if that is a smart move?” If they are territorial, try moving the...

    another clown?

This is what I would do after getting the new fish and just before placing them into the aquarium. I would quarantine the new fishes before putting them into your tank: 1. Get buckets to put your live rocks in 2. Place your rocks into the buckets 3. Siphon water (from your tank) into the...
