    Red Algae

My tank has been up an running since March 2003. For the first time we have had an outbreak of Red Algae on top of our live sand. Any thoughts on why this all of a sudden popped up and possibly ways to defend against it? Any help would be appreciated. Conrad

    AcuaScaping (Please Help)

When aquascaping your tanks, do you use the back of the tank (meaning the glass) as almost another dimension? Basically I am asking if it is ok to use the back of the tank as an aide in propping up live rock and other features in your tank. I understand that the glass should not take on much...

    Pearl Bubble Coral

Just recently got into corals after purchasing an AquaMedic chiller. I have a 90gal tank with 330watts of PC lighting. It was FOWLR, but the changeover has already happened. I purchased a pearl bubble coral from the LFS and it seems like it has turned a slight bit of orange or possibly a...

    What Brand Refractometer Is Reliable?

I am about to do hypo in a QT tank. I have heard the swing-arm salinity gauges are basically useless and I have read on this forum that refractometers are the best thing to use. Can you please give me some ideas concerning relaibility & even pricing if you can. Thanks in advance. Conrad:)

    Coral Beauty

Thanks for your help. I figured the would eat most of the the thing I provide my other fish. Also, I hear that they might change color when moving into adulthood. Is this true, and if so, what do the adults look like? Conrad

    Coral Beauty

I just purchased a Coral Beauty angel for my 90gal FOWLR. I have heard that they a very picky eaters. IS there anything I need to know about its diet, or will he be fine with pellets, flakes, brine shrimp occasionally, and some seaweed? Any help would be appreciated. Conrad:cool:

    garlic?

I purchased Kents Garlic extreme last night. I added it to flake and pellet food, but it seemed like it did not spread around enough. Only a few pellets and flakes seemed to get saturated with the garlic. Any hints on the best way to do this? I was thinking of using a shot glass (clean:p )...

    garlic?

Can I add the garlic drops to pellet or flaked food? I would think it would just turn the food into mush. I really do not know if this would be a bad thing. Can I add a few drops to the SW that I use to defrost frozen brine shrimp? Any help would be appreciated. Conrad:confused:

    Ouch

I have spent around 2K since getting a FOWLR tank. I did however, invest in the correct accessories in the beginning. ETS protein skimmer, good lighting, heater, LR, LS, livestock, and all the other things necessary. It is an expensive hobby, but I see the costs coming down in the future...
