Coral Beauty

I just purchased a Coral Beauty angel for my 90gal FOWLR. I have heard that they a very picky eaters. IS there anything I need to know about its diet, or will he be fine with pellets, flakes, brine shrimp occasionally, and some seaweed? Any help would be appreciated.

Mine is healthy on a diet similar to that. I have yet to see him actually eat algae though. Some coral beauty's will nip at soft corals also.

Thanks for your help. I figured the would eat most of the the thing I provide my other fish.
Also, I hear that they might change color when moving into adulthood. Is this true, and if so, what do the adults look like?

My experience with coral beauty's has been great. I've never experienced any problems with them eating. I feed nori, brine, mysis, plankton, spectrum pellets, all soaked in selcon or zoe or garlic( I alternate daily). Good luck.

You may want to find out if the CB is Wild (Very Doubtful), tank raised, captive breed. If it is wild then you will need to give it lots of algae filled LR, or suppliment it with other forms of algae/seaweed, such as nori.
If it is captive breed or tank raised then the diet your planning will do just fine. I feed mine Frozen Formula 1, Frozen Brine with Spinula, and once a week i put some nori in the tank but he really doesnt take to the nori much.

Mine has adapted to a varied diet of meaty type foods and assorted algae based foods...but they do prefer a good source of algaes. I don't believe they change much as they mature...some fish radically change as they mature but mine has been in my reef for over two years and looks about the same coloration as when I added him.
