Someone adopt this beautiful snowflake Moray

Yeah, I'm pretty far away for that offer. Nice eel though. However, it's not a snowflake eel. Or at least not a common one. But as luck would have it, I can't remember its name.

    Compatability Question...(please read)

I currently have a snowflake in my tank and was wondering if I could put a golden tail eel in with him? All I have in my tank now are a snowflake (approx. 2ft) and a lionfish (approx. 10"). The goldentail would be about 1.5ft. Any replies would be appreiated. Thanks in advance.

    clown trigger j to a

You'll notice that fish in general goes through their growth spurts the same was a person may. Unless he's absolutely crammed he should be fine and it probably wouldn't change his growth rate. Even in a big tank a fish will just grow fast sometimes and then level off for a while. Then he may...

    NEWSFLASH

That is not a wise decision at all. I'd say get at least a 55 for them. At least. As far as the brackish water puffer, I'm not for certain. I've been told they can be weened to be in freshwater but I'm not sure if that goes the other way or not.

    ell ?

Someone earlier stated something along the lines of "make sure they have a PVC pipe to go in". Obviously, this is not a must for an eel (since in its natural habitat it doesn't have any idea what PVC is). Just provide it with plenty of live rock to hide in and it will be fine. Besides, PVC...

    snowflake or zebra

A green wolf would work fine. However, it is a fish and not an eel. You may know this already but some people are deceived by its looks.

Will a Picasso Trigger attack ?

I believe if he's large enough and fiesty then he will. Of course there are always those rule benders and someone may say they get away with it. Perhaps someone can tell you that has this combo.

    200 Gallon Aggresive Tank

I've heard the good "rule of thumb" is to take your tank size and multiply that by 10 to get your filtration ratio (as a rough approximation). So then...tank size (gal)x10=filtration/hour

    snowflake or zebra

I would go for the snowflake over the zebra. Usually I say it depends on which one you think is more attractive (which I still say snowflake) but in this case it is a 75gal tank and a zebra gets pretty large. The snowflake is better proportioned for this scenerio. Zebra get around 4ft long...

    MUST SEE PICTURES

Nice looking fish. I'm sure you know that this will eventually be a crammed space in need of a bigger tank though, right? Take care and enjoy...

    snowflake or lion first

Unless you buy a large snowflake (2ft or so) you have plenty of lr. It really doesn't matter which one you buy first. They are both very hardy and neither one will claim territory over the other. At least I've never had a problem with this combo or heard of any for that matter. HTH and good luck.

Myth or Reality - Dog Faced Puffer Stung By Lionfish!

Yeah, I had an 8" lion swallowed by a tesselatta eel one time with seconds of putting him in the tank. I'd have never guessed that would have happened.

    Substrate in Aggressive Tank Help

But in answering his question...A crushed coral bed would work fine in a fowlr if you don't mind the periodical water change. Say perhaps 20% water change on a monthly basis using a syphon to clean the bottom. Actually, if you don't overpopulate it then it won't even need cleaned that often...

    feeding a lionfish

TIME OUT TIME OUT!!! Are these people serious or just trying to work someone up. Someone stated they never weened there lionfish and he eats goldfish everyday? MY goodness. Then I see something about beef heart? Wow! Fortunatly I think that was from someone seeking advice on how to feed...

    New Tank

The damsel and lr method worked great for me because I knew I was getting a volitan lionfish. So obviously, if you buy damsels that stay small then they turn into a great sw meal in due time. Then again, I knew I was getting a lion so there was no chasing the fish out. Both damsels and shrimp...

    slimmy lion fish

As stated above, this process is completely normal and it will shed its slime coat from time to time. It usually does it frquently if it is stressed, but even then it is usually okay. Don't worry about it. HTH and good luck.

    eels and triggers?

I agree, I've never seen a trigger have a problem with a snowflake. Unless you trigger is 2" and your eel is about 2 1/2ft, then that may have him intimidated. But other than that your trigger should be fine. If he's not yet then I'd imagine he'll adjust. Just my 2 cents. HTH

    Tank for lionfish

Welp, I personally think it would be a little to small for an antenatta. I would stick to something like a common dwarf (zebra dwarf) or something like that. The "fuzzy" dwarf lion is nice also. They both can get up to 6". Mine got pretty large and nice looking. I had one of each of those...

    antennata lion help

One is as hardy as the other. Depending the the dwarf. Most dwarf's eat well and all others do to. It comes down to which one you like more. I believe one of my books says it can get up to 8" but that means it probably will get about 6". Enjoy.
