    Sand on LR

I constantly have a thin layer of sand all over my my Live Rock. I am not sure if it is from my PH or my maroon clown knocking the sand around. I dont think I will every get the coraline with the sand on it. I get in there in and blow it off every week or so but it comes back. Anywone else...

    Anybody seen these?

I had them growing in my tank once. It happened when my PH was very low, I am not sure if it is related but you may want to check anyway.

    Die off

I received my saltwater fish rock today. They say it is pre-cured. I have it re-curing in a tub. It has been in for about 10 hours and I just check the amonia, Amonia reading was barely anything. How long before the die off starts?

    Just received ship notification

The tank is established, I have a 20 gallon bucket waiting for the new rock with a heater and powerhead. My thought was to put all the pieces in the bucket for a while unless there are some super pieces with alot of growth, if so I may add them direct to get the light. I'm thinking my tank...

    Just received ship notification

ordered live rock from Saltwaterfish, contained in the email: "Live Rock does not need to be acclimated like fish or invertebrates. You can add it directly to your tank. You can rinse off the rock if you would like, but be sure to only rinse it with saltwater, not freshwater." Does this mean I...

    Any secret to ble mushrooms?

I just started to add some corals and LR to my tank, its been established for about 18 months. About 2 months ago I added green mushrooms which are doing fine, 2 weeks ago I added an LTA and blue/purple mushrooms. The LTA is doing great but the purple mushrooms have just been shriveling up and...

    Too much current

I just replaced my RIO 2100 (600GPH) return pump with a MAG 700. I decided to add the RIO to my tank for circulation. I do not have much rock in the tank but figured the more circulation the better. I already had 1 small pump plus a canister and over flow/sump return in the tank. Inside the...

    Lta

There is plenty of sand in the tank, the damn maroon clown is always clearing it from "his" area. One end of my tank has about 5 inches because of the large maroon cleaning house. The foot is in a cave of a fake coral, hopefully there is enough sand in the cave for him. Will he move if he needs...

    lights

I had an old retro fit PC 2x65 and I tried it on my tank before I bought these lights. I was not happy with the way they looked so I stayed with the flourencents. Maybe it's just the amount of white light which makes it look brighter. The Jebo fixture will be fine. It's nice, clean and doesnt...

    lights

Just upgraded (I thought) my standard double strip flourecent lights to Power Compacts. I had 1 stock light in with a 50/50 40 Watts each for a total of 80watts. I just replaced with 8x55 (440 Watts) 4x10000K and 4x Actinics and it looks like less light. It definitly is not as bright but are...
