Just upgraded (I thought) my standard double strip flourecent lights to Power Compacts. I had 1 stock light in with a 50/50 40 Watts each for a total of 80watts.
I just replaced with 8x55 (440 Watts) 4x10000K and 4x Actinics and it looks like less light. It definitly is not as bright but are these lights better? I have added some live rock and some mushrooms and wanted to start some coraline.
The lights are the Jebo. I have replaced 1 set of the fake blue with True Actinics 03 and waiting to replace the other fake blue with 50/50's.

There are better fluorescents than PC's (VHO. T8. T5)
but the PC's should be way brighter than the 80 watts you had. Sounds like something is wrong.

I have a jebo 220w. I upgraded to a coralife 260w.
I would return them if you can.
The ballasts are made in china. Very low quality.
No fans and cheap bulbs.

I had an old retro fit PC 2x65 and I tried it on my tank before I bought these lights. I was not happy with the way they looked so I stayed with the flourencents.
Maybe it's just the amount of white light which makes it look brighter.
The Jebo fixture will be fine. It's nice, clean and doesnt get too hot under my canopy. I am changing out the lights as needed.
