I have a new 29 gal. setup and it is my first saltwater tank, I just bought a Coralife Protein rated for a 30 gal. tank, but I am now wondering if this is good enough skimmer, any thoughts?

I was adding every 2 days or so. And no I had not checked my reading because I was waiting for my test kit, which I have now and everything seems to be ok exept the ammonia levels are high.
