I found something similar in my tank. I'm not sure what mine is. It has a weird round base that is dark in color, and then the clear white tentacles emerging from the middle. I always wanted to know what it was, but I can't get a picture.

Oddly enough, after I read these last few posts, I saw my banded coral shrimp tearing apart a bristle worm (one of the small red ones). I didn't even know they ate bristles!

It's not one of the common red ones. I've got hundreds of those, and they don't touch my coral. Since I caught him eating the zoos, the one polyp that was open is now all deflated looking; not very promising. Maybe he'll pull through.

Over the past week, I've watched two different sets of zoos suddenly take a turn for the worst, while the rest of my coral thrives. This moring, I noticed that a third set of zoos in the same part of the tank suddenly looked bad. When I got home today, I found a very fat and fuzzy bristle...

I just added coral to my tank, and a strange worm just crawled out. It has red and white stripes that run down the long side of his body. It's about 3 in. long and very thin. It almost looks like a snake. It looks like it has a smooth skin. Can anyone ID? It's crawling up the glass now!

Is there any way to get the algae off the rock without killing it? It's got a pretty good hold on the rock.

No ideas on the algae? Looks kind of like a fan plant or halimeda. Not sure though. :notsure: Any way to tell?

And finally, red mushroom, with some type of hitch-hiking macro algae. Anybody know what it could be?

Two types of Xenia. The top started out as a tiny frag, and in two months, BOOM, they're everywhere. The lower one doesn't grow as fast, but it started out as pretty much an empty rock (it got torn off during shipping).
