just wondering if the K value of a MH makes a difference in growth of corals or just more pleasing to the eye. i.e: less yellow just looks nicer. would a 250watt MH w/ 4000k have the same results or should i say be benificial enough to support some corals as a 6500k ? im kinda rambeling...

does anyone know if a normal coil ballast for a 250w MH that runs a 4000k bulb would also run a 6500k or higher bulb of the same wattage. my reason for asking is that i can get a ballast here locally for $45.00 but im not sure if it will run a higher K bulb. thanks, chris
