    Copperband Butterfly

I just bought a Copperband on the 11th of February and it took a few days to start eating. I let some mysis shrimp thaw out then add a few drops of garlic and Zoe. It was hesitant at first but now is eating pretty good. I also have alot of aptasia on my rocks and it hasnt even touched any of it.

Anyone know what starfish this is?

That looks like a red thorny starfish. Supposedly they are one of the harder starfish to keep from what I hear. I have had mine for about a year now and it is doing great. It has never touched my coral or any inverts. Every now and then ill feed it a cube of krill or squid.

    pH Keeps Going Down

Acrylic is onto something there. Your pH will fluctuate with the lights on. To get a good reading you should test your pH at the same time whenever you test.

    calcium levels

Calcium is tested at 420 in the ocean. So you would want to stay as close to that as possible. 480 is not all that bad however. Your Alkalinity should be anywhere from 7-11 dKh.

I feed them twice a day usually just flake food but sometimes ill give them some mysis shrimp soaked in garlic extreme. I just dip my bio balls into some fresh saltwater and then put them back in. I have seen something called a nitrate sponge that look like white little rocks. Would that help?

    Stressed out Yellow Tang

Well its been two days since I have had him in my tank and now his eye is all cleared up. The closer I looked at him it looks like the "spots" on his fin is from him trying to hide underneath live rock. For those of you out there with yellow tangs are yours really shy and timid? I hardly ever...
