should I remove it? it doesn't look like it's grown onto the rock, it looks as if it's barely sitting on it.

I've got something on my LR that pretty much just appeared out of nowhere, it almost looks like a teeny tiny cotton ball, about the size of the end of a q-tip. It's round and white and looks kind of fuzzy? It's been there for about 2weeks now and i have no idea what it is or where it came from...
