    Nitrates wont go down!!!!

    Is there rock in the tank? If so, where did you get it? How long was it cured? It could have been half dead and not curing can cause a large surface area of dying organisms. Causing the high nitrates.... Just a thought

    Been there. Wen that route about 10 years ago on my last tank. Ended up using calcium paste to kill them off. Didnt take long, burnt the hell out of them.

    True nothing wrong with this idea of leaving it be. That is where it is for the time being. If its a clam that is one thing but it could be a barnicle? something else? Just the ID thats important for my brain.
