Just got two of these for my 110FOLR , they were given to me by someone who used them to cycle thier tank. How aggresive are they? they seem to hide in my live rock. what do they eat? thanks. They are black with yellow tails.

You can't over filter your tank, the key is water movement but change your filter pads often to avoid a nitrate explosion. IMO you don't have enough water movement. Try a couple Aquaclear 500's instead of the whispers and ditch the can filter , it does more harm than good (nitrate factory). Also...

Try Crystal Sea Marine Mix, rated the best by a scientific study on Premium Aquatics.com site. Has less toxic minerals than any other brand tested. Instant Ocean was the worst rated.

Anyone Know if you can run a stand alone skimmer that is not nang on the back? Anyone?:confused:

Can I run a stand alone skimmer like the Kent Nautilus or Precision Marine bullet without a sump? Would a pump like a mag 9 or 12 be enough to move the flow out of the tank , through the skimmer and back in? The skimmer would sit under the tank. If not I am leaning towards a Remora Pro HOB with...

LFS had some awesome looking live rock from Tonga, I believe. I picked up a few pieces and noticed a bad smell. Is this normal? rock is cured according to owner. Thanks.

I am a long time Discus keeper currently in the planning stages of starting a FOLR tank. Is it possible to introduce parasites when cycling with cured live rock? If so what can be done about it ? Thanks, love this forum!:happyfish
