I have just put my LR fully cured into the tank. What do I need to keep it clean. I have 55 gal with very little crushed coral none under the rock. 80 pounds of rock.

I see ballast like Blue Wave VII that is a 250w HQI double ballast system. Is this just a fancy blue box that holds ballasts like an Advanced HQI ballast? Where would I find a case to hold ballast? Thanks

How far can a ballast be located from the lights? Is there a electronic ballast that can run 150, 175, and 250 mh.

I will increase water changes, I do vacuum but will do it better. I have bought the sand and ordered the live rock to switch things over. Still working on more water circulation. Thank you for your help Rich Ps will cure rock out in a bin not with the fish

55 gallon crushed coral, FO, 2 Clowns, 1 damsel, 1 fireshrimp, 8 snails, 10 red hermits, RO water changes once a month, canister filter 5 times an hour water filters.

Nitrates are 20 what up all other readings are in check.
