I believe the tank is in good shape. I was wondering if this dark spot is an indicator of trouble or no need to worry. All other corals are fine.

Just bought my first brain. Have had about 3 months and it has developed a small dark spot - no color here at all. Is this a bad sign or nothing to worry about. The injury or whatever it is does not want to go away.

I know lots of you guys have brains, so, mine seems to be losing color and a little bit of size. I have never fed it, was told not too, anyone use marine snow for feedings. My water is fine, all other corals are good. This is my first brain. Please advise!

thanks for the info, I'll try feeding them. I still have about half a rock full. Hopefully, they will come back. I took an emerald crab out of the tank and put him in another. Maybe this will help also. I thought this coral was supposed to be so easy to keep!

I have a piece of rock which used to be full of sea mats and buttons. It is gradually dying and I can't seem to stop it. I've put it closer to the light and in more current, but it did not help. I've heard you can feed them, but feed them what and how? These are supposed to be very easy...

mlm-thanks for the reply. Sounds dumb - but feed them what? I didn't realize they needed so much light. By the way how did you fit all your light on the back of a 55g. At most you only have 12 inches or so on the top?
