IMO, I believe that this has more to do with water quality than lighting. I have the same problem with my hammer and frag...i adjusted my water level to a much better condition and they all seem fine now.

i have 2 peppermint shrimps that seems to be doing it's job in my 60 gal. i may need to get a another one since I have about 80 lbs of LR. Somebody suggested the Joes Juice to me but also told me to try the peppermints first before I use any chemicals. Good advise!

for some weird reason, my mandarin eats flakes......good for me. My tank is less than 2 months old....60 gal with 60 lbs of LR. I also have a six-line wrasse that competes for he pods.....that's probably why the mandarin learned how to eat flakes and some mysis shrimp from time to time.

I have the same substrate and I want to get LS. What is the best way of replacing the substrate without stressing out the livestock and without making the water cloudy? Do I have to reduce the water level or remove it? I'm a newbie, any help will be appreciated.
