Check out these 2 pics and tell me why my Hammer all of a sudden started doing this. First pic is of it after the lights had been on for about an hour. One stalk is recinded and pale blue color.

My branching torch does the same also. As long as it doesn't stay receded for a long period of time it should be okay.

I just checked DKH=11.5 and calcium is 370 which has been a little bit of a problem as I have been adding Kent Liquid Calcium every day and it is stuck at 370. Working on getting a Calc Reactor as soon as funds become available as they are a little on the expensive side.

Started during the day after the lights came on but once it happened to 2 stalks after the lights went off.

IMO, I believe that this has more to do with water quality than lighting. I have the same problem with my hammer and frag...i adjusted my water level to a much better condition and they all seem fine now.

i didnt pay much attention to calcium and KH level and correcting that problem helped out a lot - at least for me. I also started using the Kent Coral Vite. Not sure if that helped. I know it helped my green plate, the tentacles are not stringy anymore. I'm still new to this and still learning as I go.
