I agree. Saving as much water (75% or greater) as possible will be your best chance for the least impact when converting. Maintain your water temps. Cleaning the sump is not a bad thing but don't use anything but water. I had to do mine because a pump went out and blew oil into my sump. What a...

    How to increase Oxygen

I cycle my tank water about 10 times per hour. If you have a 72 gallon you need to be moving about 10 times that through your pump system. I have found that this will right your tank. Good Luck! Fish :D

    I need help

Hope the following will help. It is recomended that you add 1 to 1.5lbs of live rock per gallon. This will help in maintaining water quality. A water change of about 30% will lower the Ammonia level. You try to keep the nitrates 10 or less. You should wait for you tank to cycle before adding...

    High Nitrates

What kind of load is in your tank. Amount of fish? Amount of coral? Amount of Live Rock? How deep is your substrate? Type of filter system? How much water movement per hour? Lighting? Answers to this might help me provide you some suggestions. I wish I could afford a setup that big? Maybe in the...

    Maintaining Calcium levels

You can do it the natural way. You can add some new aragonite to the tank. When it breaks down it will emit Calcium and trace elements to the water. Fish :D

    New Additions

I am thinking about getting some myself. I too went to the LFS and added a blue cup coral to my tank. I really believe it to be some kind of plate coral. It is blue in color and about the size of your hand. Has polyps covering the entire surface. I hope you enjoy the new additions. Fish :D

    Strange Creture

When I clean my filter that is located in the overflow of my 58 gallon reef ready tank I have noticed small white inverts coming out of the filter. The are small and look like tiny shrimp or fleas. Any ideas of what they are? When I take the filter out I will wait and let them escape back into...

    I am really baffled!!!!!!!!!

Was the live rock cured. Some LFS will say it is cured but the rock still needs to go through some additional curing. This will cause water problems. I agree with dad to go and get your water checked. Be careful not to change conditions to fast to fix a problem. This will even cause more...

    Xenia shriveld everyone else fine

I had mine dye back when I first got them from the LFS. I would place them high in your tank where they can get the best lighting. I only had a very small patch when the die off stopped and they finally took off. Water quality must be good as well. Hope this helps, Fish :D
