:thinking: I have a 3 year old 110 tank with a live sand bottom. The goby is sifting away and I have been enjoying his activity. I have been reading that these little guys can starve if the sand becomes depleted... Is there a way of replenishing the sand with the good stuff the the goby eats?

Thank you for the response biglurr..... But I am unsure on the steps of how to trim or cut the colt coral as I am a beginner to keeping coral... Anyhelp would be appreciated

I read in another thread that the bagged live sand from your lfs in devoid of the critters that make a sand bed benificial........ where can you buy "real" live sand.... is the "live" sand that is available on line more appropriate?..... :thinking:

I have seen postings on the message boards for this very large slug (of course I forgot the name of it)that will eat the hair algae in a matter of days. I also saw a smaller version of it at my lfs. It did an amazing job for thier tanks.

Lennon, I am also new to salt water and I have found the hobby quite addicting. It takes a lot of time and patience. I started with a fish only tank which was easier to maintain but soon moved to some live rock and corals. A "reef" tank is like a garden, it needs knowledge, dedication, and...

If I boost my sp. grav. to 1.025 will it harm my fish ? I do have live rock and some polyps and mushrooms and a colt coral . I will be adding more corals and LR as the wallet allows....gotta feed the kids and gas in the car first.
