My charter boat caught this fish (yes, we released it too!) yesterday out in the gulf 30 miles off the coast of Destin, Florida. Does anyone know what it is? My captain knows it is a type of puffer, but we can't find any id on the internet.

I have a 5 inch panther and it loves cooked cocktail shrimp! I have trained him to take it from my hand. I also catch him eating the brine shrimp I feed my other fish. He will get picky sometimes, then I'll wait a couple days and he's back! Good luck!

I have a panther and a yellow tang and they get along fine. My panther loves shrimp! I get the frozen shrimp and thaw it out and give him small cut up pieces. He now takes them from my hand. I hope you can get yours to eat because I really enjoy watching mine.

If you can add another fish, a copperbanded butterfly would keep it under control. I had a nasty outbreak and bought this fish and now my tank is aiptasia free! I now feed him mysis shrimp. He is a great fish, but will nip at corals.

I also have a problem with aiptasia. They are everywhere! I have dipped my rock in fresh water, but it is hard to disturb all the rock. I have a cleaner shrimp now. If I get a pepermint shrimp, will the two get along?

I have some new items growing in my tank and have no idea what they are. I have a small stalk of xenia and so far it has not multiplied. These really don't look like xenia. They act like an anemones. When I feed the other 3 anemones, they grab the left over shrimp and eat it like the others...

I have a flower pot and it is doing great. I have had it for 5 months now. I have two clowns and they each have an anenome and don't bother the flower pot. Only my cleaner shrimp go around it after the lights have dimmed. I also keep it closer to the top with a moderate flow of water.

I have the same one as you! I have had it for 3 months and it is doing very well. The mysis shrimp works for me. It seems to eat it before my eyes. I have also read that they are hard to keep, but I really enjoy mine! I love the way it opens and closes every day. Good luck with yours!

Yes, I agree they need light!! I have MH lighting and they seem to love it!

Also, the next morning after the feeding, they look like they have spit the food out? I have fed them before and this hasn't happened? They have been in the tank for two months and my water parameters are normal with no fluctuations in PH or salinity.

I have two LTAs and one condi and they seem to be so picky! I have fed them chopped up clams and shrimp and the next morning they shrivel up and it takes until that afternoon for them to become normal. I thought they liked meaty foods. What do you feed your anemones?

I live in Branson. The Exotic Tropical Store takes about an hour and a half. There is a saltwater fish club in Springfield that goes together about every other month or so. I usually order my fish online and have had great luck. Haven't had one die yet, but I am still new to this hobby.

What LFS are you using? The one in Branson doesn't have a clue to what they are talking about. Also the one in Springfield isn't very knowledgeable. There is one in Rogers, AR that wants you to have the best tank possible and not out to just make sales. I would suggest you keep listening to...

Should I test the PH everyday? What other items do I need to test for...calcium?, salinity?, nitrates? I have been so busy getting all the "right" items to set up the tank, I don't know what to do now. I am still reading all my books, but thought I'd get some insight from all the ones that...

Ok, I have the tank ready to fill and I see everyone talking about tests and I was wondering what tests to do I need to initally purchase? I will eventually have a reef tank. I have read that Salifert is the most reliable test. How often should I test? Thanks!
