    Emergency Power Back Up System

Battery backup is designed for electrical devices to do graceful shutdown. It is not effective to sustain operation for any useful amount of time. Let see: Medium size tank (no light during power outage, no fuge, no sump): 250w heater 35W HOB skimmer 4x 20W Power Head Total Wattage: 385W (let...

    UV sterilizers

UV helps. However, it is minimal. Plus, it is yet another equipment one has to do monthly maintance. For me, the cost (time & money) exceeds the benefit. Running skimmer is recommended during the cycling process. Your cycle will be shorter.

    Help! I Need Answers Fast!

You should aim for 0 nitrate. Anything above 0 will be food source for algae. Nitrate wont be a problem to livestocks until it gets to 40ppm. Whenever you have a chance, do another 5 gallon water change. Remeasure. If the result is still the same (20ppm), then you are probably overfeeding or...

    Emergency Power Back Up System

Silverback, I say you are a trolling salesman. Getting a UPS as a power backup for your aquarum is not effective. In fact, it is absurd. And I say 8 hr is the theoretical max time at the rated power usage. We all know we dont live in a perfect world. If it's not, you need to talk to your...

It is messy because when the bubbles burst at the surface of the water, bits on salt water will be on your light, tank, hood, furniture, and etc.

Qustion about my new RO unit.

I hook mine to a 3-gallons presurized tank. So, there's always 3 gallons on reserved. I also have tons of 5 gallons jugs. Once a while, I empty the 3 gallons into my 5 gallon jugs. I then wait 30 minutes (my RO is 90 GPD) for my RO to drip out the other 2 gallons.

Im attempting to build my first stand

def overkill. I think 1" x 1" pine can support 800 lb. For the 48" stand, 8 pieces (4 front, 4 rear) of 2x4 is the max I'll put.

    Won Brothers??

I needed a new heater a while back. I researched at another board that said Won Brother is a bad buy. It is because of the faulty thermometer as you've stated. So, I bought a Jager. It is made out of 2mm Pyrex glass. It is the same glass as your baking pan. You can drop it, bake it at 500...

    Closed Loop and Chiller question

What does the flow spec for the chiller says? I guess you just stay within it. How do you plump it? SQWD will reduce flow by 30% (so ppl said). Can the chiller handle the pressure if you plump it between your SQWD and new pump? I guess velocity of the water has something to do with the...
