    Heat in the tank

How hot does it have to get to be bad for inverts and such in a tank? I am cycling now, but I'm trying to prepare for the future. My temp can get up to 85 during the day and that's with my air running most of the time. I am running 2x250watt MH and 4x110 actinics. I have two 3" fans pulling...

    LPS and SPS

I've heard it isn't too smart to keep both SPS and LPS in the same tank. They are supposed to do some type of chemical warfare. Does anyone have experience with this? Maybe some can be kept together still. Any comments appreciated.

    Pairing maroons

Anyone sucessfully pair maroon clowns that didn't come together as a pair? If so, how did you do it. I thought of keeping the smaller of the two in a intank safety house where the larger fish could see it. It would probably try to attack the smaller fish until it was sure that it was not...

    Under tank refugium

Does anyone know if an under the tank refugium is better or worse than the hangon cpr type? Will the copepods get destroyed in the return pump? I don't know if the cpr uses a return pump or if it's just an overflow. Have any info? Thanks

Can anyone tell me why the pH changes as the lights go out? Will this still happen if you use a buffer such as seachem reef buffer? It's just something I was wondering about. Thanks

    Raising pH

How do I raise my pH safely. It is around 8.1 during the day. I want it around 8.3. I have xenias that pulse slightly and would like to have them pulse quicker. I read that a higher pH would make them do this. Any help? Thanks

    Button polyp propagation

Ok, now that I have some info on mushroom propagation, Does anyone have an easy way of transfering a few polyps from a healthy colony to new rocks? Garf says pull them off with a pair of tweezers. Won't that tear the base or do they let go quite easily. I have some that have somehow attached...

    Brittle on the kill

I saw my green brittle star try to eat my seabae anemone yesterday. It grabbed it and pulled it out of the sand before finally letting go. Could this be a sign that my anenome is in trouble? It looks good except that it seems to be slowly getting a shade darker in color. It is a purple tip...

Good day to all, I have heard that peppermint shrimp will eat apastasia anenomes. I have started to notice a few in my tank. Is that all they will eat? Maybe a silly question, but will they attack my seabae anenome too? I wanted to find out before I got 1 or 2 of these guys. Let me know...
