I do not understand how you can put a steel wire in salt water. wouldn't that kill the wire and the tank?

I have a Juvi Emperor Angel. He has a line going along his back just like Tang's HLLE. However this line has not lost any color and this line is sticking out of his body. Another words, its like a vein has poped out in the shape of Tang's HLLE. What could this be?

if Nitrite is harmless then why do we bother to check and make sure nitrite is 0???

I am confused, Nitrite is harmless??? i thought nitrite is just as poisionous as ammonia? but definitely will do a 50% water change using water from main tank tonight.
