Funny you should ask, I was having the same problem and after doing some research, I decided to purchase a refractometer off that big site you bid on. I got mine for $25. Just make sure it says RHS and ATC. Mine works great best thing I could have done.

I have a valentini puffer in my tank with coral and shrimp and the valentini does not bother anything in my tank. I use to have a blue dot puffer and it also did not bother my coral. Just feed it some brine shrimp to keep it's teeth dull.

I paid $49.99 for two stalks. At the time I thought it was nice looking but later discovered it took over my whole tank. I spent hours each week tearing that crap out and it just grew back. My Hawaiian blue dot puffer has not bothered any of my corals. I have some mushrooms, different colored zoos, pulsing xenia and a colt coral. He usually stays away and i feed him krill once a day.

I use the Canon Rebel at home and when working at the FD we carry the Nikon D70 on the Engine. My preference is the Canon over the Nikon, both have their pros and cons. It mainly comes down to how much you want to spend.
