This miniatus lives at the long beach aquarium. It is about 22"-24".

Its a blue speckled grouper ( Epinephelus cyanopodus ). Grows to 36" and comes from tropical and subtropical western pacific. Grows fast and will eat everything. Mine is as close as you could get to dog tame. I could pet it, rub its sides ect.

You have to choose carefully with groupers. Their growth rate is typically faster than other fish. You would be suprised at the things they can swallow.

Tessalatas are beautiful eels but grow to almost 5' in an aquarium. Here is a pic of mine in a 300. My tessy is close to 3'.

The main indicators that make this shark not a zebra are: the tail length and shape as well as the fact that zebras are born 10"-12" TL. The ones I received are only about 5"-6".

The pictured shark is not one of a kind. My supplier has many of them. All look the same. I got a couple more coming next week. Thanks for the replies and opinions.

That definately is not a banded bamboo. I am quite experience with sharks but this one has me stumped. I will post some clearer pics.

Can anyone id this shark for me? Labeled as a zebra but highly unlikely. I think its some sort of catshark species. Never seen anything like it.
