I had the same problem as you with my sedra 2500. So after it broke I decided to upgrade to a sedra 3500 on the ASM G-1skimmer and it works much better now with the bigger pump. You will need some pvc couplers to properly attach the 3500 to the smaller G-1 but it is possible.

Yeah it definitely has a lot of dead stuff on it, my protein skimmer has been going crazy since I added it. But maybe it will help the bacteria colonize it faster

Ok thanks for all your help, I may try keeping one in my tank before i start putting corals in it just to see how it does. Does any one know anything about keeping belted sand fish in captivity? They're all over the reef's her in North Carolina and I think they're cool looking fish.

Hi, I caught this butterfly fish off the coast of NC. Any one have an idea what type it is?

It had its foot dug down into the sand so all he had to do was scoop it up. I put it in a large cooler and used an air stone to aerate the water.

My brother went diving last week and found this cool anemone in the sound under a dock off the coast of North Carolina. I think it may be a tube anemone but I'm not positive. Any idea on what it is and what i should feed it? It seems to be more active during the night.
